It’s been a while since I posted so I wanted to let you know what has been happening! I have been working as a contractor for global architecture and interior design firm Gresham Smith, a long-standing partner of HCA Healthcare whose 50th anniversary book I wrote and published last year. Gresham designs all sorts of amazing spaces across the country, including community mainstays like hospitals and airports. I am rewriting hundreds of their bios and it’s been bananas!!! I have also gotten back into acting, which I did all growing up. Translating a character to the screen encompasses a lot of the skills that I have acquired as an interviewer including empathy, question asking (I have to admit that I don’t know things all of the time while interviewing the very smart architects and engineers at Gresham Smith) and active listening. I felt very natural jumping straight into acting and have been smitten ever since.
Here is my first film “The Easy Way Out” directed by Ben Sherrill and produced by Mary Spaulding, both students at Belmont University. I play the lead, Amber Johnson, who commits arson fraud to save her family from debt and keep up with the Brentwood, Tennessee lifestyle. It was a tremendous experience and role, which I was able to sink my teeth into, explore, and investigate. Thank you to everyone involved in this production, including my wonderful costars and cast, and my family and friends for helping me run lines. I hope you like it as much as I do! Love, Lily
