It was such an honor to live interview Buddy Jackson at The Rymer Gallery on October 6. Surrounded by his collection of female-focused paintings, sculptures and photographs, we talked about everything from his artistic process, to choosing his models, and how he stays so prolific. Below are a few of my favorite moments from chatting with the compelling, oftentimes controversial, artist.
“I would say more than anything, I am influenced by the 1960’s, rather than the South. I was born at this very interesting time where everything seemed to change including the relationships between men and women. I think we’ve been trying to navigate that dynamic ever since. While I love women, and find them incredibly inspiring, I don’t worship them.”  —Buddy Jackson
The collection features over 70 pieces and will  remain at The Rymer Gallery until November 1. Go see it now!
