Hey guys! In November I had the pleasure of hosting a panel for the Southeastern International Film Festival at the Cambria Hotel. There, on a panel calling “Acting A-Z,” I interviewed film, TV, and theatre actors Lynda Evjen and Rebecca Lines. Evjen holds a BFA, MFA, and PhD in acting, (whew!) and most recently performed on CMT’s “Still the King” with Billy Ray Cyrus. Her Broadway credits include Curtains and The Pajama Game. Lines, who started acting professionally as an adult after leaving a successful corporate career, has 60-plus credits to her name in films and TV shows like “House of Cards” and “Oprah’s OWN Greenleaf.” When both ladies aren’t acting they are passionate about bringing awareness to women in film and television. During our conversation, they talked practicality like the importance of training (natural talent is only going to get you so far,) a good headshot to make you as appealing as possible to casting directors, and how to find an agent who will bring in the right auditions. Above all, it was a joy to hear these ladies talk about the indescribable thrill that comes from getting a scene right as well as their mutual love for being on set. As Lines described in the video below, there’s no bigger high or better feeling.
