After collaborating on Kix Brooks’ book proposal and kicking it with him over the last two years (after meeting at the Atlanta airport of all places) it was a real joy to have a conversation in front of a live audience. He is a man whose stories and insights have always moved me. Kix is someone who seizes the moment, doesn’t take himself too seriously and always manages to make magic happen.
The Sip It! series, which took place on February 23rd at Nashville’s Entrepreneur Center, was charged with energy and inspiration.
“You’ll find that what you love is what you’re also good at,” was one of my favorite quotes from the monthly series. It reminded me of moments when I’d whine to the country music legend about my love-hate relationship with writing. “Don’t forget what brought you to the dance!” he’d say with a grin before I’d poke him in the arm. “You told me so,” I’d always find myself saying later on.
