Kristina Eckert is the sweetest ass-kicker you will ever meet.
After parting ways from her first company, cke interior design this past year Kristina ventured off to start her own business, Evolve Design Build. While she had achieved much success and status in her former partnership (“Best in Town” several years in a row from The Nashville Scene and Tennessean!) it was the time for the interior designer to see what her entrepreneurial skills could offer. Business savvy is in her blood and she has become laser-focused on developing her own unique brand. From launching an online interior design concept to manufacturing her own furniture designs (dying to buy her beautiful “Barnwood Daybed” here) Kristina’s “hell yea!” attitude leads her to projects that impassion her. Most importantly, is her love for green design.
The environmentally-conscious designer wants sustainability to be a viable option for anyone, rather than a trend reserved for the affluent. She is passionate about repurposing, solar panels, and renewable energy and while they are oftentimes costly, Kristina is determined to make them scalable. In order to do this, the designer is trail blazing her own path.
She is an avid reader, researcher and knowledge seeker who constantly brings my attention to books like “Focus” (Daniel Goleman- love!,) “The $100 Startup” and “Think & Grow Rich” that would otherwise never cross my radar. We often meet at the Entrepreneur Center to get our intellectual stimuli on and then get buzzed over coffee on my couch next door. “Maybe,” “if” and “impossible” don’t exist within our conversations. We are both little hustlers with the creative muscles to make our dreams come alive.
Everyone needs an accountability partner and a muse. I can only hope that by clinking mugs with Kristina that some of her magic will eventually rub off on me.
